Volvo Ocean Race is coming back to Gothenburg in June and we are looking for volunteers that want to help us make it a world-class event!

Since 1973, the Volvo Ocean Race has provided the ultimate test of a team and a human adventure like no other. Over four decades it has kept an almost mythical hold over some of the greatest  sailors ever– and the 2017-18 edition will take the teams 45,000 nautical miles around the world, across four oceans, touching six continents and 12 landmark Host Cities.

Gothenburg will be the penultimate stop along the route and now you have a chance to be a volunteer during the event – a unique opportunity to get new experiences, meet new friends and have fun!

The event in Gothenburg is going to have a team of around 300 volunteers that will help organize the event in the Race Village. Also, the Gothenburg Royal Yacht Club are recruiting a team of 100 volunteers that will help them organize activities on the water.

To be a volunteer you need to be 18 years or older and if you know many languages that’s a big plus! Also, we need you to be available at least four days during the event 14-21 June. The motto of the Volvo Ocean Race volunteers is: ”Excellence is not a skill, it´s an attitude. It´s doing ordinary things extraordinary well”
