SUSTAINABLE EVENT

TOGETHER WE CAN TAKE ACTION AGAINST PLASTIC POLLUTION!

Gothenburg aims to be a sustainable city, open to the world. The city’s high ambitions in all three areas of sustainability should also be reflected at the Volvo Ocean Race Gothenburg Stopover 2018. In addition to meeting the requirements of the Swedish Environmental Base standard for events, the event should be open, welcoming and accessible for everyone.

And in connection to the Race’s overall target to highlight and affect the growing challenges with plastic pollution in the oceans we will make every effort we can to significantly reduce single-use plastics and only offer tapped water in the Race Village.
